A graduate of the StedelijkConservatorium in Mechelen(where he was taught by Rudy Haemers), Peter Cverlecontinued his studies at theLemmensinstituut in Leuven,where he was taught by NadineBal and obtained a master’s in2007. He went on toobtain asecond master’s in advancedstudies in contemporary art musicperformance in 2011, having beentaught by Geert Callaert.
He took part in several editions of the Competition for YoungSaxophonists (Dinant – 2001 – 2003 – 2005 – 2007 – 2009).
He impressed at the YamahaContest (Hamburg – 2007) andtwo years later was awarded thegold medal at the Conservatoire àRayonnement Régional de Cergy-Pontoise(where he was taught by Jean-Yves Fourmeau). He tookpart in the Concours InternationalAdolphe Sax de L’Haÿ-les-Rosesand in the 4th and 5th Adolphe SaxInternational Competitions(Dinant– 2006 and 2010).
He has performed as a soloistwith numerous orchestras and ensembles, including theEuropean Saxophone Ensemble,the Vlaams Radio Orkest, theBelgian National Orchestra, theUniversitair Symfonisch Orkest inLeuven,and the Royal Band of theBelgian Air Force.
Since 2012, he is solo sopranosaxophonist with the Royal Bandof the Belgian Air Force.
He is a member of the CeDel SaxQuartet.
He currently teaches at the musicacademies of Jette and Wemmel.
