Romain Zante holds a specialisedsaxophone master’s from theConservatoire Royal de Bruxellesand graduated in orchestrationand orchestral conducting from the Conservatoire d’Esch-sur-Alzette and in film musiccomposition from the prestigiousUniversity of California LosAngeles. In 2016, he succeededAlain Crepinas the conductor of the Cercle Royal Musicald’Aubange. Since then, he has divided his time betweenconducting and the compositionof film and concert music.
His catalogue, which is mainlymade up of commissions, includesmany pieces of both chambermusic and orchestral music. HisFantasy on a Japanese Song wasselectedas the compulsory piecefor the International Golden SaxCompetition in Kiev in November2017, at which he was guest of honour and also served as amember of the jury for the final.In the field of film music, he has composed the soundtracksfor many short films, mainly inLos Angeles, as well as music for advertising; in collaborationwith Solo Wang, he has beeninvolved in the composition of the soundtracks for a number of feature-length Asian films.
The Taiwanese productioncompany Great Dream PicturesInc. entrusted him with thecomposition of the music thataccompanies its logo in cinemasworldwide. For themusic for the film Things Happen, he wasnominated for the HollywoodMusic in Media Awards inNovember 2015 (Hollywood) andwon the Prize for Best OriginalMusic at theSan Diego FilmAwards in 2016. His music for thefilm Like won the Prize for BestOriginal Music at the SouthernShorts Awards (Roswell).
