In 2013, he was awarded theTorenwachtersprijs (Ghent) for the international nature of his career. Two years later, hereceived the prestigious FugaPrize; in 2019, he was made an Honorary Member of theInternational Clarinet Association.Eddy Vanoosthuyse is soloclarinettist with the BrusselsPhilharmonic and Professor ofClarinet at theRoyal Conservatoryin Ghent and at the Fontys Schoolof Fine and Performing Arts inTilburg. He is Artistic Director at the International ClarinetCompetition Gent.
He regularly gives masterclasses and teaches all over the world asa guest teacher.
